Address changes and the IRS
There are several ways to change the address on file with the IRS, such as entering the new address in the appropriate boxes on the tax return, or submitting Form 8822 (Change of Address) at any time during the year. While the IRS uses the U.S. Postal Service's change of address files to update taxpayer addresses, it's still a good idea to notify the IRS directly.
If we are currently working on your tax return, please make sure that the address that we have on file for you is correct. Please give us a call if you need to update your address with us.
If we have already filed your tax return and you need to updated your address, please feel free to give us a call if you need assistance obtaining or filling out Form 8822 (Change of Address).
